Over the last few weeks, we have covered the major macronutrients (Carbohydrates, Proteins and Fats) and how to actively read labels to choose the best foods to incorporate into your eating plan. Today, I want to give you a printable copy of my grocery list: the healthier foods I choose and the ones I stay away from. Feel free to print this off as a “cheat sheet” for your shopping trip to make grocery buying quick and easy.
You may have heard the phrase “shop the perimeter of the store.” Basically this saying encourages you to buy food from the produce, meat, and dairy section and shy away from the boxed and processed foods in the middle aisles of the store. This is generally good advice, but the list provided is much more specific to help you dial in your choices.
Another great tip, which we will touch more on in the upcoming weeks, is meal planning. Look up a couple new or healthy recipes before heading the store be sure to add the ingredients to your list. This helps prevent overbuying and wasting healthy food that just sits in your fridge to rot without a plan.
Click here for the list, print it off, add your ingredients for healthy recipes and get to shopping. This simple changes added together can truly change your life.
