I Bet You’ve Never Seen a Travel Vlog for Ulysses, Kansas

I must really love my sister. I mean, why else would I offer to drive with my mother and two toddlers on a crazy road trip from Virginia Beach, Virginia to Ulysses, Kansas just to visit her “nothing-to-do town?!” Just for reference, Siri tells me this trip is 23 hours of drive time and 1,584 miles. We were blessed with Cambri and Porter behaving on the ride, but ran into rain, mountains, three state capitals, seven total states, and endless plains. The car ride itself was the most strenuous I’ve ever managed, but the vacation was totally worth it. If you follow along, you already know I create these videos to preserve our family memories. While this one most likely will not be used for your own traveling inspiration, it definitely gives an idea of the charming, friendly towns scattered across the plains states. Enjoy the video!

The Little Gems We Visited:

Grant County Library

Russ Pinney Park

Katie’s Goody Shop

The Main Street “Story Walk” and shops

Sullivan Elementary School (Anna’s classroom and the playground)

Grant County Recreation Center Pool

Garage Saling around town, a favorite past time

Ace Hardware, to buy a meat tenderizer which apparently is a hot commodity in a small town.

Celebration Baptist Church

Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City

Garden City Walmart, for groceries of course (this small town living is tough!)

Historic Adobe Museum

The Green’s Residence in Meade, Kansas

Big Basin Prairie Reserve in Ashland, Kansas

Cambri, Porter, Jill (my mom) and I made the trek to visit Anna (my sister), Matt and Finnley Green. There are some guest appearances from the Johnson Family, and Patrick and Cindy Green.
