Banana Kefir Treat

I licked the spoon and I will never turn back! My kids get a kefir treat daily, but this banana one was so good that I ate half the batch. The chia seeds give it a whipped, fluffy consistency and the banana-coconut flavor combo is out of this world! Make a batch and see if your kids love it as much as you! Bonus…with all the chia seeds, flax seeds, and kefir, it’s good for your gut and brain development.

Why Chia?

Chia seeds give this yogurt mix more of a custardy texture that is undeniably delicious! But there’s more…they are full of omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, iron and calcium.

Omega 3s are great for brain development, which let’s be honest, we all need, but is especially helpful in developing brains for your babies! The fatty acids also reduce your risk for heart disease.

Benefits of fiber are beyond listable, but diets high in fiber can lower your cancer risk.

In a world of germs, antioxidants not all only help your body function properly, but also increase your immunity.

Worldwide, 30% of on pregnant women and 40% of pregnant women all suffer from low iron or anemia, mostly due to a lack of iron in their diet.

Surprise, calcium is found in more than just milk! It’s important for bone growth, yes, but also keeping a normal heart beat, contracting muscles, proper nerve function, clotting blood, and releasing hormones.

Why Flax Seeds?

Flax seeds give almost a nutty flavor. Studies even show that this superfood reduces risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke and diabetes. It also contains omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and fiber, which are all addressed above.

Why Kefir?

Healthy gut, happy life, right? When buying kefir, always look for one that contains live bacteria and low sugar. It’s been known to reduce cancer cells and help with digestive issues like IBS. It can even be used by some people with lactose intolerance, or it can be made dairy free using things like coconut milk.

Here’s the recipe you are going to want to try!
